Create a verification with one API call and send the user to the hosted flow. On desktop they get a QR code to continue on their phone.

Selfie, then ID if needed

A selfie settles it for most people. If the age is too close to call, they scan an ID with a certified provider, with a second one as backup. We compute 18+ and keep nothing else.

Let them in

The user returns with an Ed25519-signed attestation bound to your app. Verify it against our JWKS. No personal data ever touches your servers.

Most age checks are a single provider's flow, so when it can't read a face or a document, your user is stuck. Softeo moves them to the next step instead.

Step 1

Selfie age estimate

The quickest, lightest check. It only passes people clearly above 18, with a safety margin. Anyone closer to the line moves on.

Step 2

ID scan, provider one

A certified provider reads a document, and only the yes or no comes back to us.

Step 3

ID scan, a second provider

If the first can't read the document or is down, an independent provider takes over, so nobody hits a dead end.

One API for you. Every step is a separate provider behind it, and we can reorder or swap providers without touching your integration.

One answer. Nothing else.

Failures come back as not_verified without saying why, so you never learn that a user is a minor or whose document failed.
